Homer Beach Regulations

The following activities are prohibited on Homer beaches:

-Tampering with, removing or burning any driftwood on a storm

      berm*

     -Driving on:

                        Mud Bay

                        Louie’s Lagoon

                        Mariner Park Lagoon

                        Beluga Slough

Note: It is against city regulations to remove or burn any driftwood or to drive a vehicle to the left or southeast of the Bishop Beach public access road on the storm berm. You may use driftwood from the beach to the right, or purchase firewood from the Safeway or Save-U-More grocery stores.

* A storm berm is a raised bank formed by wave action. Homer storm berms rely on the accumulation of driftwood and vegetation to hold their shape and protect the shore from erosion.
